The EL9189 potential distribution terminal provides 16 terminal points with the 0 V potential at the front on the terminal contacts. The 0 V power contact is connected to the front-side terminal contacts and is passed through to the adjacent terminal.

An open serial protocol – like in the BK8x00 Bus Couplers – and the Modbus RTU/ASCII protocol are implemented. The address and the protocol are selected via the two rotary selection switches.
