The KL9210 power feed terminal makes it possible to set up various potential groups with the standard voltage of 24 V DC. In order to monitor the supply voltage, the terminal with diagnostics reports the status of the power feed terminal to the Bus Coupler through two input bits. It is thus possible for the controller to check the distributed peripheral voltage over the fieldbus.
The KL9505 power supply terminal generates an output voltage of 5 V DC from the (24 V DC) input voltage, which can be accessed at the terminal. The following Bus Terminals are also supplied with this voltage via the power contacts. The power LEDs indicate the terminal’s operating state. The input voltage and the output voltage U0 are not electrically isolated.
The KL9508 power supply terminal generates an output voltage of 8 V DC from the (24 V DC) input voltage, which can be accessed at the terminal. The KL9550 system terminal contains an overvoltage filter for the 24 V field and system supply. The filter protects the Bus Terminal from line-bound surge voltages that can occur due to high-energy disturbances such as switching overvoltages at inductive consumers or lightning strikes at the supply lines.
