The ICF-1180I industrial grade PROFIBUS to fiber converter can convert PROFIBUS signals into fiber optic signals. this converter can extend the serial transmission distance to 4 km (using multimode fiber) or 45 km (using single-mode fiber). ICF-1180I provides 2 kV optoelectronic isolation protection and redundant dual power input for PROFIBUS systems, ensuring uninterrupted operation of users' PROFIBUS devices. Fiber optic cable detection function Fiber optic cables are often used for long-distance communication. Engineers will use fiber optic sensors to ensure normal communication of fiber optic signals. The ICF-1180I converter only needs to be adjusted through DIP switches for fiber optic cable detection, without the need for additional fiber optic sensors. This function can not only determine whether the fiber optic communication is abnormal, but also verify the format of the received data packet. It can also determine which party (Tx or Rx) is causing the problem. PROFIBUS bus fault protection: When a PROFIBUS device or serial interface fails, electrical noise will be generated, causing bus faults. Generally, converters allow noise signals to be transmitted through optical fibers to the next converter.
